President: Andrew Ballantyne, PE, Master Electrician
Andrew Ballantyne, a proud Maine native, has dedicated his career to the fields of electrical engineering
and masterful electrical craftsmanship. Born, raised, educated, and currently practicing in the heart of
Maine, he embodies the spirit of local expertise.
Andrew’s journey began during his high school years when he eagerly started as an electrician’s helper.
This early exposure to the electrical trade ignited his passion for the field. He pursued his education at
Southern Maine Community College (SMCC), where he not only excelled but earned the highest GPA in
his class, setting the stage for his future accomplishments.
While at SMCC, Andrew’s dedication and knowledge were so impressive that he was offered an adjunct
professor role at the college. At the age of 22, he became the youngest professor to be employed by
SMCC. As a professor, Andrew taught AC & DC Electrical courses, sharing his wealth of practical
experience and theoretical understanding with aspiring electricians and engineers.
Andrew’s drive for excellence led him to further his education at the University of Southern Maine,
where he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Balancing academia with real-world
experience, he continued working as an electrician, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
Upon graduating from the engineering program, Andrew embarked on a career as an Electrical Engineer
in the power industry. His hands-on experience as a licensed electrician complemented his engineering
expertise, allowing him to tackle complex projects with a unique blend of practical wisdom and technical
innovation.
In 2020, Andrew achieved a significant milestone in his career by successfully passing the Master
Electrician’s exam and the Principles and Practices of Engineering Exam. These achievements culminated
in his licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) and Master Electrician, a testament to his deep
knowledge and commitment to the highest industry standards.
Today, Andrew continues to actively work as both a licensed electrician and engineer, merging his
technical proficiency with a dedication to excellence that has become synonymous with the Ballantyne
